On Thursday, March 12 at 5:00 PM, in the prestigious setting of Palazzo Reale in Milan, a conference will be held about the site of Kültepe/Kanesh, in Cappadocia, one of the key sites for understanding the earliest trade networks of ancient Western Asia. The talk, by Luca Peyronel, will present the most recent results of the archaeological research, offering an in-depth perspective on the economic, social, and cultural dynamics that characterized this important center between the 3rd and 2nd millennia BCE.Through the analysis of excavation data and recovered materials, the conference will highlight the crucial role of Kültepe in the interactions between Anatolia and Mesopotamia, conveying to the public the value of archaeological research as a tool for understanding the complexity of ancient civilizations.The event inaugurates the public lecture series Svelare il passato. L’archeologia della Statale incontra la città, organized in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.
