A new series of events dedicated to the ancient world, organized by the University of Milan, is set to begin under the title “Meraviglie dell’antichità. Archeologia, miti e racconti dei luoghi che hanno cambiato la storia”. The initiative aims to offer an in-depth journey through presentations, lectures, and conversations with archaeologists, historians, and philologists, guiding the audience in the discovery of the most significant places of antiquity.
The first event will feature Stefano de Martino, who will present the history of the mythical city of Troy and the main archaeological discoveries at Hisarlık. Starting from his volume “Troia, l’eterna illusione”, the lecture will explore the relationship between myth and archaeology, bringing literary traditions into dialogue with historical and archaeological research.
Following institutional greetings by Domenico Piraina and Silvia Romani, the discussion will continue in dialogue with Massimiliano Ornaghi, Laura Pepe, Luca Peyronel, and Luca Sacchi, and will be accompanied by readings by Sergio Longo (Compagnia ARCUS).
The initiative is part of the University’s third mission activities, aimed at promoting public engagement and the dissemination of scientific knowledge.
